Great dance last night! Our caller was Rich Sbardella who made his Round Hill debut -- and completed his goal of calling every dance in Connecticut. His mix of contras, squares, and mixers made for a lively and enjoyable evening. The music by Termite's Delight (Chris Carpenter, Michael Gorin, Susie Dean, and Joe DePaolo) featured a variety of instruments which made for a energetic medley of dances.
We had over 40 dancers for the first time in quite awhile. I believe we only lost about $6 - right Evelyn? Some old friends joined us, along with another 10 or so new dancers. Bob and Tova have generously donated funds to underwrite another dance - Hurray for Bob and Tova! This dance sparks a bit of optimism that combined with this financial support, makes us think of adding another dance or two to the 2017 schedule.
Thanks Oliver to you and your friends for rounding up new dancers. And thank you to Julie DiRaimondo for putting in a word for us with a friend at the Greenwich Time, one of the Hearst family of papers. It resulted in 3 notices printed for Round Hill on Sunday, Thursday and Friday. I would like to ask Julie to help with ongoing publicity. Catherine Costanza, a Stamford resident, has expressed interest in helping with our Facebook management Catherine brought her parents and a friend last night.
As announced, there will be no December dance. We look forward to seeing all of you at our January 28th contra featuring Bob Isaacs and Wry Bred. Note the day change to the 4th Saturday.
