Michael Kernan with Wry Bred

Despite an unforeseen change in venue, almost 50 dancers came out to dance with us at the Church of the Holy Spirit. It was a large, comfortable space and three very enthusiastic members of the parish joined in the fun! It was kind of nice dancing in lots of space on a floor that didn't slant.

Michael called some different and very interesting dances that were enjoyable for dancers of all ability levels. Wry Bred (Mickey Koth on fiddle; Julie Sorchek on flute and sax; Robert Messore on guitar) serenaded with their usual assortment of upbeat jigs and reels. A jazzy rendition of "Joshua Fit the Battle of Jericho" was a real treat.

Thanks Evelyn for showing up at 6 pm with me! Oliver and Catherine were right behind her. And Bob and Tova were at work about that time, hauling the sound system from the Stone House and then setting up. Thank you to Daniel for providing hospitality to our caller -- and for brownies. Thanks to Barb Mountain for overseeing the refreshment table!

We will be dancing again on October 28th with Rich Sbardella calling to the music of Fingerplay. We're not sure if our usual venue (The Stone House) will be up and running next month, so please keep checking our website, Meetup, and Facebook pages for the most up-to-date information. Hope to see you on the dance floor!
