Jim Gregory with Brooklyn Swing Ensemble
Round Hill swung into the new season of dances thanks to Jim Gregory and Brooklyn Swing Ensemble! Danny Elias serenaded us on his clarinets and cajon. Sam Zygmuntowicz on fiddle joined Norm Plankey on guitar to round out the sound.
The 33 dancers in attendance were treated to a mix of jazzy swing, lively contra, and boisterous klezmer tunes. Danny even pulled out a tin whistle and performed an original tune composed by his son! Jim called some unusual dances to keep everyone on their toes.
Round Hill's next dance will be February 23rd with Ben Sachs-Hamilton and the Tune Doctors. Hope to see you there!
