Bob Isaacs and the Flying Romanos
We had our biggest dance of 2019, and the hall looked spectacular! There was a festive Christmas tree, a menorah, and baubles hanging from the ceiling. Dancers brought jingle bells and festive clothes that made the hall feel bright and cheerful.
Bob Isaacs had some very enjoyable dances including Honor Among Thieves. The square dance figure "of lady around two and the gent falls through" invited numerous playful variations to the delight of the dancers. The Flying Romanos provided an exuberant, bouncy sound for the evening with their mix of old-time, Quebecois, and klezmer tunes. Thank you to Robin Russell, Norma Castle, and Marnen Laibow-Koser for sharing your music with us!
The hall was still very full after the break! The incredible spread of goodies didn't hurt, and it was a treat to have a big crowd to fill the dance floor for the second half. Thank you to all of the new dancers and supporters of other dances who came out to join us.
Round Hill will be moving to a mostly 3rd Saturday format in 2020. The next dance will be January 18th with Carl Levine and Wry Bred.
